Dubai Children's City
2002, Interactive LTD
Dubai Children's City is an actual venue in Dubai where kids can go and have fun while learning at the same. We had to do a mirror image of the English into Arabic. Although a few communication problems were had it was a nice and fun design to work on. I HTML coded from the designs created in house and it was then sent to Dubai so the content could be added (Phase 1). Phase 2 entailed that we handle all content from our side, included a cms for both the English and Arabic pages. The cat is called 'Murshid' and that means 'guide' in Arabic, the cat is featured across the whole website as it is their mascot.

I had alot of freedom to code the HTML front-end pages. Alot of CSS was used for positioning, embedding of flash files, movies and animations. Although somewhat on the dark side, it still managed to feel fresh and open, yet also very structured.
subscribe24.co.za was another website of the Media24 stable. Subscriptions to all the publications produced by Media24 could easily be obtained via this website (often with web exclusive discounted deals). HTML front-end coded by myself with assistance on Storyteller back-end in style implementation.
women24.co.za (now W24.co.za) is also part of Media24 and took all the magazine publications related to women and put it all in one easily accessible place online, with added exclusive web content. I coded the Front-end HTML and assisted with style integration in the back-end.
food24.co.za (now food24.com) was revolutionary in 2001, taking all Media24 food based literature and making it available online. Functionality included recipe finder based on ingredients you had on hand, shopping list generator, and the ability to adjust the recipe amounts required based on the amount of people eating; to name but a few innovations based on usability and functionality.
