koeberg sabotage

what a load of crap! anybody with abit of common sense knows that it's just not possible (it helps if you also know some-one who works at koeberg).

i've been told that there are at least 2 security checks before you actually even enter a main building at koeberg. sure you can drive up to the parking area in koeberg without a second glance from anyone. it's a nature reserve aswell as a nuclear power plant. people actually cycle, hike and even go horse-riding there!

you might say "but greenpeace climbed the walls". i would say "whoop-dee-doo" to that. i've walked up to those fences, i've even slid down the dunes there without getting shot at (i did get asked to leave the area). those fences are about (and i might be wrong) 1-2 km away from the koeberg buildings.

to get into a restricted area is alot harder than entering the 'main' building. staff are searched thoroughly. the questioning of the security measures at koeberg are unfounded, ask anyone who works there.

our current mayor says she had her suspicions about there being sabotage on the reactor. yet koeberg was mystified by the governments claim of sabotage.

sabotage - my ass.
bolt - my ass.
setup for political gain / escape - for sure.

I don't buy the sabotage argument myself. Now they've turned around and have said that they never implied sabotage was a possibility. So which is it, did you imply that it was sabotage (in a recorded press conference) or did you say it wasn't?

Admit it, the only reason this situation exists is because of the incompetence of maintaining and expanding the infrastructure, plain and simple.

i voted kaptain. i want to believe that it counts in some way or the other.

but it also doesn't.

our constitution allows politicians to 'cross-the-floor' later on in the year and take my vote with them. effectively saying big fat "f&^$ you" to the people that voted them in!

i think we should have a referendum on this 'floor-crossing' debacle, er, process...

I really really hope that all of you back home took the chance to have your say in the local elections yesterday - i know of one or two (no names!) who took it as a holiday and went up the west coast for the day!!! What a load of crap! We need EVERY vote and don't let anyone who hasn't voted moan about the goings on.... I would have loved to, but instead am here in the UK with no say in what happens - and reading about the results!
BBC was having a laugh in one of the atricles I read yesterday - saying that vote counting in W Cape will be done by candle-light. NOT FUNNY (although probably true!)

Anyway - hope that you all have a good time with Nix over. Enjoy your braai and remeber that I WISH I WAS THERE TOO!!!!
