up and running (kind of)
i have been a little busy since leaving ripe design. i finally finished a freelance job and got the client up and running after transferring their hosting to hetzner. it was a great relief and i'm happy that they like the changes to their website.
on thursday, after getting this new look up and running, the adsl went down and it's been down ever since. it's obviously up again now, sunday afternoon. who knows when it'll go again, hopefully not soon. it really messes up things for ed and myself. we really rely on the connectivity...
the past week has been pretty cool. i've spent time setting up myself for freelance work, now i just need to sell myself. the coming week will be spent following up on leads from some friends. i've read up on how to run your business and i've also tried to setup a system to follow finances and budgets, so come the end of the month i'm not in for a nasty surprise!
hope you guys like the new look?
oh, i finally added the pics of ed opening his b-day pressie...

"have worked in a studio chris... i have also done the 'big corporate'. both have their pro's and cons. infact the 'big corporate' was way more flexible with the coming and going times compared to the small, funky studio. surprised?" - that is interesting, but makes perfect sense actually :) Well, I hope the freelancing goes well!! I'm busy working on two LARGE projects at the moment, taking up all my time, and it's killing me looking at lines of code all day, grief, I even dream of freaking code!! ahaha

For me, I think working in a studio of young people would suite me perfectly. As far as working for a company, which is much stricter, and requires early morning traffic - that however would stress me out too! However, if it's about the money, then I guess decisions have to be made more carefully!
Sarah.. good luck with the freelancing.. I've seen your work and it's great :) Hopefully things will calm down a bit and you won't be as stressed!
P.s. tripeak.. totally, rounded transparent corners look awesome!!!

i couldn't commute anymore. it was driving me nuts. my days were starting of with the dreaded feeling of having to sit in traffic - i wasn't happy. it just didn't make sense to me.
the freelance thing is a huge step and i freaked out when i woke up on friday (the day after leaving) thinking: what the hell have i done? :)
thanks for the positive feedback re: the new look, everyone!

Good luck with the freelancing - what made you decide to switch over to it? Even just thinking of it gives me a nervous twitch.
Re the site… rounded corners rules! :)

ian: you want cute? go to: http://mfrost.typepad.com/cute_overload/
damien: i have never felt too confident in the designing of websites, but this just sort of developed from a little spark of inspiration i had and i'm well pleased with the result...

Haaaha Chris you funny guy. I dig the layout too Sarah, only the cool kids use fixed backgrounds. ;) It sparked some ideas that have been brewing in my head for a while, might have to action them sometime.
Good luck again with the freelance gig!

thanks chris... why are you drinking wine at 14:49 on a monday afternoon by the way?

I dig the new layout! I sat here scrolling up and down for a good couple minutes, hehe, then felt dizzy and took another sip of wine :))
