inaccurate
the wind is howling in cape town today, so i went online to iol weather to check what they reckon about the wind and will tomorrow (heaven forbid) be the same...?
what i got back makes me think they are getting their weather info from the wrong people... according to their website, the wind is calm today, a massive 0km/h! same wind forecast for tomorrow, hmmm?
does anyone have ideas on where to get more accurate weather info for the cape town area?

i'll have a look at it too. i did surf around all the news websites, some had wind speeds of a mild breeze, slightly better than iol. i even tried weathersa.com. the worst of it though is that it has been windy in the afternoons since thursday and surely this is some sort of trend and they can try getting it more accurate???
i saw a bunch of guys hanging around dolphin beach area (wind-surfing) on saturday (actually there were alot of people there) waiting for the afternoon in the hopes that the wind would pick-up... it wasn't blowing much when i passed... if only they had some accurate weather forecasting!

I check IOL's weather too and also decided this week that I need to find a more reliable source! They've been getting it wrong really badly lately.. but then again, our weather is so unpredictable and it really depends where you are in relation to the mountain.
I use ForecastFox extension in Firefox and it's pretty good, sits in the status bar, very customizable. I just haven't gotten into the habit of checking it yet. ;)
