choice?
i read with great satisfaction today that south africa will finally get another player in the pay-tv arena. the newest (and only other pay-tv option) is on digital media. finding out what they are offering is proving hard to find but with options from R99/month and R249/month it is significantly cheaper than their rivals, where they offer a full boutique (without extra's) at R529/month. this is indeed good news and will hopefully give the consumer much more choices...

false claims
i really like it when the 'big players' get blocked. the latest casualty is the dstv guys...
they claim to show 1800 movies every month. as a subscriber, i know that even through repeats there is simply no way they have 1800 movies every month. anyway, they have been blocked... yay! the story is way interesting in the sense that dstv thought they could furnish the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) with a list that included programs - repeating them nogal since the program is on 8 times a month... lol
for me personally with regards to 'movies', the most irritating thing for me on the movie channel(s) is the 'dinner for 5' program, a bunch of pompous movie types sitting around a dinner table talking kuck. i wonder if anyone really watches that? i tried it out for 5 minutes and couldn't stomach it anymore.
another gripe i have with dstv is that when i knew i was moving and that they weren't sending my bill to my postal address i called them up and changed my bill receiving address to my postal address. on thursday eve i turned on the telly and saw surprisingly that i had been disconnected... i guessed it was because i hadn't paid the bill that i hadn't received...
anyway i called their cape town number and was greeted with a recording saying that i could pay and activate my dstv immediately online at their website... that's convenient, however, the whole thing was broken and i had to call back and wait for over 15 minutes before my call was answered. i asked them why the website is broken and yet they are referring people there. it seems they were in the process of transferring their payment systems, everything should be up and running in no longer than 48 hours i am told. great, change your recording until it's working, how hard can that be really?
sunday morning and the website is still not working, i think i should contact asa and tell them about that false advertising?

hmm, not too sure about this one?
i didn't think i was a hero, it would be cool to time travel though!
update: i was going through some previous posts and i stumbled across this other superhero quiz i did, and they both mention that i like to help people... cool!

finally
tonight lost season 3 starts on m-net. it feels like i've been waiting for this to happen for over a year now. season 1 completely knocked my socks off, season 2 was abit like a car with an engine problem... sputtering along. although there were some pretty good episodes - especially towards the end.
season 3 episode 1 synopsis:
Jack, Kate, and Sawyer are prisoners of the mysterious ''Others.'' After their captors drug them and take blood samples, they are held in separate areas. The camp leaders--Ben (Henry Gale), Mr. Friendly and a new woman, Juliet--try to make the castaways adjust to their new circumstances. Flashbacks reveal more about Jack's past with his father and his wife Sarah.
i'm well curious about what's going to happen next, hopefully it's a damn good episode!
i hope it's not confusing like prison break, when i tuned in on tuesday evening last week for the 1st episode of season 2 (also on m-net) i was wondering if they had accidentally skipped an episode because season 1 ended with them fleeing in the night and season 2 started with them fleeing through some mini forest during the day?
